What we’re looking for

We are looking for volunteers to help enrich the lives and support some of our residents. Activities include social activities such as helping with interests and hobbies, assisting residents to go out and visit places of interest in the local community and gardening.

Volunteers should ideally have a caring, encouraging attitude and should enjoy talking and listening to people. The roles usually require a criminal record check (DBS) and some may require a valid driving licence.

Event Facilitator (Brompton)

We are looking for a confident person with excellent organisation and communication skills to develop a Domino knock out competition for tenants to participate in.

Based at the Orchards Extra Care Scheme in Brompton, you will need to set up the playing area, prompt and remind tenants about the events, escort them from their flats to the playing areas, monitor the friendly competition and present the trophy to the monthly winner.

You will require DBS check and ideally you will be able to travel to the site independently.

Social Inclusion Volunteer (Northallerton)

We are looking for a self motivated, patient person who can empathise with our customers.

Based in Northallerton, this role includes working closely with independent people who have learning disabilities, engaging with them as an equal and promoting social inclusion

Hospitality Volunteer (Northallerton / Brompton)

We have an opportunity for a warm and friendly individual who is willing to help serve food to vulnerable people and help to host coffee mornings/ afternoons.

Based within our schemes at Northallerton and Brompton, you may be involved in food and dining room preparation, hosting our customers, understanding dietary needs, helping at special events and cleaning the kitchen and dining areas.

You must be able to follow our food safety systems, and full training will be given on control of infection, food hygiene, health and safety, other training and support will be offered if necessary.

Activities Volunteer( Northallerton)

Our women’s refuge in Northallerton is currently looking for a friendly and approachable person who is good with communication, organisation and has strong digital skills. You will promote social and intellectual activities by creating an activities plan for residents.

The role will include developing activities that support and empower both mums and children. This could include a mix of visual, audio, kinaesthetic and play.

This role will require a DBS check and a valid driving licence.

Activity Support Volunteer (Northallerton)

We are currently looking for a confident, patient individual with excellent organisational and communication skills to support tenants to take part in activities such as bingo.

Based at Rivendale, our extra care scheme in Northallerton, this role includes escorting tenants to the activities and assisting those who have literacy problems or who have visual impairments.

You will require DBS check and ideally you will be able to travel to the site independently.

Activity Volunteer (Stokesley)

We are currently looking for an empathetic individual with strong organisational and communications skills to provide fun games and activities for their residents.

Based in our extra care scheme in Stokesley you may need to set up the venue for activities, escorting people to attend the activities and assisting them to return home, encouraging and initiating new games and activities.

You will require DBS check and ideally you will be able to travel to the site independently.

Support Volunteer (Northallerton)

Based in Lascelles Court, one of our sheltered housing schemes in Northallerton, we are looking for a proactive, friendly and caring person who has strong communication and computer skills along with the ability to empathise with tenants.

You will help to support residents by organising activities such as coffee mornings, visit their properties, and assist with tenant focus group meetings.

You will require DBS check and a valid driving licence ideally with access to your own vehicle.

We are looking for a caring patient and understanding person with creative flair and an interest in the local community to support our residents with social activities.

Based at Kirkwood Hall our extra care scheme in Leyburn you might be assisting residents to visit local places of interest or helping them to take part in musical, craft of gardening activities.
