Having cerebral palsy doesn’t stop Graham Haughton living an active life.
The 41-year-old, who lives in our Rockliffe Court housing scheme for people with physical and sensory disabilities, is a regular at his local gym, as well as doing voluntary work and taking part in some of the activities held at Rockliffe, including photographic workshops.
Graham moved to Rockliffe Court when he was 21, making him, at the time, the youngest resident.
He is now one of the ‘older’ hands and says he enjoys living at Rockliffe.
“It’s a good place with good people,” he says.
“I like my flat and one of the best things about living here is that if you want to keep yourself to yourself, you can, and if you want to spend time with the other residents, that’s ok too.”
Graham is making a New Year’s Resolution for 2018 and that is to try and find a job.
He adds: “I am doing an English course at the moment, so I can improve my CV and start applying for jobs.
“I like to keep active by going to the gym and I have done some voluntary work, but getting a paid job would be amazing.
“Ideally, I would like to work with children.”
