PROVIDING affordable homes for people in North Yorkshire is one of Broadacres’ key objectives, so we are pleased to be proceeding with work on two new schemes.
We have received planning permission to build 56 affordable rent homes in Malton and, as part of the requirements for large housebuilders to allocate a certain number of properties on new developments for affordable housing, we will be receiving 18 homes in Helmsley.
The development in Malton will result in the building of one, two and three-bedroom houses and two-bedroom bungalows. These will all be allocated to people with a local connection.
In Helmsley we will be allocated 18 two-bedroom homes and one-bedroom flats, which will again be allocated to people with a local connection.
Gail Teasdale, Broadacres’ Chief Executive, said: ““With high rents and house prices in North Yorkshire, it is increasingly difficult for people to find affordable housing, so I am delighted that we will be able to provide new, affordable homes for local people in two sought-after areas.
“Proving affordable homes to rent and buy, through shared ownership, will continue to be one of Broadacres’ main priorities and we will be announcing further new schemes shortly.”
