The ABLE CentrePeople who attend a Broadacres-run, activity-led day centre for adults in Richmondshire have been busy in the run-up to Christmas.

‘Stained’ glass paintings and Christmas cards are just two examples of the work undertaken by people at The ABLE (Activity Based Learning Environment) Day Centre.

The Centre was tasked with making the official Broadacres Christmas cards for 2017 and everyone did a fine job designing and making three different versions, amounting to 350 cards in total.

ABLE, which is situated at Bailey Court on the Colburn Business Park, near Catterick, is open to all adults, including those with learning/physical disabilities, acquired brain injury, mental health issues, dementia and autism.

Lynn Tomkinson, Manager of ABLE, said: “Christmas is always a busy time of the year for us, but everyone worked really hard and produced fantastic Christmas cards.

“We have also been using acetate to make festive paintings that have a stained-glass effect, which are now hanging up in the centre.”
